DRAIN

Anyone who’s seen DRAIN live has felt it—the electricity coming off the stage, the communal energy of fans singing in unison, the primal thrills of fists flying in the mosh pit, and the uninhibited joy emanating from every banging head, screaming lung, and airborne foot in the room. There’s nothing like a DRAIN show, and there’s no other hardcore band quite like them. The Santa Cruz-based band has become an institution within their genre, yet remains an affable neighbor to adjacent ones. Punks love DRAIN. Metalheads love DRAIN. Even haters can’t help but love DEAIN. Simply put, DRAIN is for everyone. Well, except for venue security guards. But to everyone else: Drain... Is Your Friend.

Formed in 2014, DRAIN—frontman Sammy Ciaramitaro, guitarist Cody Chavez, and drummer Tim Flegal—emerged from Santa Cruz’s vibrant DIY hardcore scene. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 lockdown, their debut album, “California Cursed,” made a massive impact in 2020, proving that nothing could stop their momentum. In 2023, their follow-up album, “Living Proof,” hit the hardcore scene like a California beach during hurricane season—an instant classic, torrential and raw.

Since then, DRAIN has blazed through hundreds of shows worldwide—headlining festivals, touring with their friends and heroes, and even playing arenas alongside Blink-182. Whether they're opening for pop-punk juggernauts like Neck Deep or taking the stage-diving torch from legends like Terror, DRAIN’s only goal remains the same: to make the crowd go absolutely buckwild.
