Holy Wars

Los Angeles-based hard rock quartet Holy Wars have returned with the venomous new single “Crucify,” a no-apologies dark anthem for the scorned. Sonically and lyrically hard-hitting, it cuts deep, shifting between ethereal melodies and blood-boiling screams, taking the listener on a visceral ride through vengeance and release. Co-written and co-produced with Cody Quistad of Wage War, “Crucify” is grandiose in scale and further pushes the limits of the band’s eclectic genre-bending style. “Crucify was written as a reckoning,” vocalist Kat Loen says, adding “Years ago, I got out of a toxic relationship — the last words my ex said to me were, I wish you nothing but the worst. Within six months, both of my parents had passed away. I’ve carried the weight of those words like a curse, buried in grief and silence until now. Writing Crucify became my way of purging that pain and finally reclaiming my power.”
The new track follows the band’s emotionally-charged single “I Feel Everything” released this past May which marked their first first new music in over a year. “I Feel Everything” marked a full-circle moment for the band, tracing back to their debut single “I Can’t Feel A Thing,” which confronted the devastating loss of Leon's parents. Now, a decade later, “I Feel Everything” dives deeper—written in the wake of losing her sister in 2024, exploring how dissociation and numbness can only heal so much before every emotion rises to the surface. Beneath the weight of the subject, the song carries a strong sense of hope and empowerment, inviting listeners to reconnect with what they feel rather than escape it.
Following their breakout 2023 EP Cult Classic, Holy Wars leveled up in 2024 with arena dates alongside Evanescence, national tours with The Warning in the US and Mexico, including sold out 12,000 capacity shows in Mexico City and Guadalajara — as well as appearances at major rock festivals including The Great Escape, Inkcarceration, Rock Fest, Rocklahoma, Knotfest Iowa, and Mayhem Festival.
In June of this year, the band traveled to Europe for massive festival appearances at Rock im Park and Rock am Ring in Germany, Rock For People in the Czech Republic, and Download Festival in the UK, alongside club shows with nu metal pioneers Kittie.
With the arrival of “Crucify” and their previous single “I Feel Everything,” Holy Wars are coming out of the gate swinging and offering a bold and declarative statement on who they are today — confident, reenergized and in full embrace of their identity and sound.
