Water Tower

Born in 2005 from the fiery creativity of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Kenny Feinstein, Water Tower has been tearing up the music scene with their electrifying fusion of bluegrass, old-time revival, and punk-rock grit. Formerly known as The Water Tower Bucket Boys, the band shed their old skin in 2012, rebranding as Water Tower and relocating from Portland, Oregon to Los Angeles, California.

Since then, they’ve carved out a reputation as one of the most innovative acts in the California bluegrass scene, amassing a fiercely loyal fanbase known as “The Owls.” Water Tower is more than a band—it’s a movement. Powered by Feinstein’s masterful songwriting, a DIY ethos, and a sound that refuses to be boxed in, their music is a high-octane collision of stomping bluegrass, raw punk energy, and street-smart storytelling.

The group’s current lineup—Kenny Feinstein, Tommy Drinkard, Taylor Estes, and Jesse Blue Eads—is a powerhouse of talent. Between relentless rehearsals, writing sessions, and explosive live sets, they also bring their music straight to the streets, busking at freeway off-ramps and turning grit into artistry. Songs like “AMPM” and “Skante Warrior” capture this raw street-born spirit.

Water Tower’s live performances are the stuff of legend. They’ve ignited stages at major festivals including the California Bluegrass Association Father’s Day Festival, Huck Finn Jubilee, Topanga Banjo Fiddle Festival, and Santa Cruz BrewGrass Festival. In 2024, they stormed IBMA World of Bluegrass as an official showcase band, and in 2025 they’re set to make their debut at the iconic Telluride Bluegrass Festival—and become the first bluegrass band to ever play the Vans Warped Tour, one of punk music’s most coveted stages.

They’ve also shared the spotlight with industry standouts like The Brothers Comatose, Nick Hexum (311), Sierra Ferrell, AJ Lee & Blue Summit, Molly Tuttle, and Steve Poltz, proving they can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best.

Beyond performing, Kenny Feinstein has become one of the bluegrass world’s most beloved festival emcees—known for his charisma, humor, and contagious energy onstage at events like the Huck Finn Jubilee and Topanga Banjo Fiddle Festival.

Whether lighting up a festival stage, busking on a street corner, or tearing down a private event, Water Tower delivers performances packed with technical brilliance, raw energy, and unfiltered passion. Their music is a call to every outsider—an anthem of rebellion, heart, and freedom.

Join The Owls. Lace up your dancing shoes. The revolution is here—and it sounds like Water Tower.
